TRIAD
Horizon Europe · Balancing Foundational and AI Competences for Inclusive, Well-being-Oriented Education
September 2026
Generative artificial intelligence is changing the way teenagers learn. But when does AI truly enhance learning, and when does it replace it? TRIAD co-designs and tests an educational framework for students aged 12 to 18. The framework balances three groups of competences: foundational ones (reading, mathematics, science), transversal ones (critical thinking, collaboration), and digital and AI competences. Throughout, it protects students’ cognitive and emotional well-being. The project involves around 1,000 students in six European countries, with classroom experiments combined with neuroscientific methods (EEG/fNIRS).
Quantia leads the work package on data integration and enrichment. It combines the results of the experiments with socio-economic and urban indicators and develops an open-source interactive dashboard that schools, researchers and policy makers can use to explore the results.
Consortium: 11 partners from 7 countries, coordinated by RPTU (Germany). Duration: 36 months, starting in September 2026.

AI-Safety 4 Smart Urban Mobility
Funded by the Regional Programme under the European Regional Development Fund 2021/2027 of Lombardy Region, Strategic Technologies call – STEP.
AI-Safety 4 Smart Urban Mobility develops an interoperable digital platform to make urban mobility safer, with particular attention to vulnerable road users. The platform combines 5G connectivity, vehicle-to-infrastructure communication (V2X), video analytics and artificial intelligence. With these tools it predicts collision risks, reconstructs accidents in 3D and manages emergencies, contributing to a safe, adaptive and citizen-centred Smart City.
Quantia develops conversational agents based on Large Language Models. The agents allow public operators and service providers to query urban data in natural language, drawn from sensors, municipal systems and open data. Quantia also contributes to post-accident 3D reconstruction using Neural Radiance Fields.
Partnership: Fastweb (lead), Vodafone Automotive, Fifth Ingenium, B.I.P., Invisiblefarm and Quantia Consulting. Duration: 30 months.
Equal-Life
Horizon 2020 · Early Environmental quality and life-course mental health effects.
January 2020 – June 2025
How does the environment a child grows up in affect their mental health and development? Equal-Life studied the early-life “exposome”, that is, the set of physical and social factors that surround children in their first years: from neighbourhood quality to green spaces, to social and family contexts. The project integrated birth cohort data, longitudinal school data and new urban data sources, for over 250,000 cases across Europe. On these data it applied machine learning and causal models to identify the environments that support healthy child development.
Quantia led the work package on tools, training and implementation. It developed the Equal-Life Toolkit, a web application to explore data and knowledge, accompanied by an operational guide, to make the results accessible and replicable for researchers and public decision makers.
Consortium: 20 European partners, coordinated by RIVM (the Netherlands). The project was part of the European Human Exposome Network.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement n° 87474.
